Banaripara is the smallest Upazila of Barisal district in respect of area. It lies between 22°45‘ and 22°52‘ north latitudes and 90°02‘ and 90°13‘ east longitudes. The Upazila is bounded on the north and east by Wazirpur Upazila, on the south by Nesarabad Upazila of Pirojpur Zila and Jhalakati Sadar Upazila of Jhalakati Zila and on the west by Nazirpur Upazila of Pirojpur Zila. The Pourashava covers an area of 1.86 sq. km.
Banaripara Pourashava forms rapidly. Considering all issues, the planning area of Banaripara considers 1.86 sq. kilometers to accommodate upcoming growth and development. Involvement of the Hon’ble Mayor, the Councilors and officials of the Banaripara Paurashava was also noteworthy.
