To perform transport survey, the team was mobilized on 19^th July, 2009. An introduction meeting held on 20^th July, 2009 in Tungipara Pourashava in presence of the Mayor, Councilors, Engineers and other professionals.

The Pourashava authority recommends 22-07-2009 as regular day or office day and 21-07-2009 as local Hat day or weekend to conduct transport survey. With reference to their observations, survey time sets from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM for those two days when traffic movements frequent.

In order to get an accurate scenario about study roads / links, detail frequency of traffic movement analyzes. This work considers overall traffic volume and the proportion of different traffic. Frequency analysis of traffic performs using the collected data from traffic volume survey. This survey includes mode-wise travel frequency on specific roads. The information helps to explain the variation for using different vehicles in different time and day of those roads.

Identification of Road Network

Waterway network is ineffective in the Pourashava. For this reason, only road network considers for traffic and transportation survey. Motorized Vehicles (MV) and Non Motorized Vehicles (NMV) play on Pourashava areas. The Pourashava authority identifies one location covers 3 entry / exit links to conduct transport survey. Those locations include one intersection with 3 links and 6 directions. Detail description of survey stations deliver in the following table. Map 5.1 indicates location of survey stations. O-D survey performs at all entry / exit links simultaneously on different dates.
