Once, the Tungipara Pourashava Master Plan presents in front of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She acknowledges and provide valuable comments. The presentation also presents in front of the Mayor at Tungipara in presence of other stakeholders and Pourashava dwellers. All of those considers as the procedural steps to encourage people’s participation in plan preparation method.

The Tungipara Pourashava of Gopalganj Zila, Bangladesh

The Tungipara Pourashava of Bangladesh forms in 1997. The Pourashava is under the jurisdiction of Tungipara Upazila in Gopalganj Zila of Faridpur. It considers as ‘Ga’ (Bangla word ‘Ga‘ means ‘C’) category Pourashava with 9 Wards. In total, 6 mouzas fully or partly involves within the Pourashava boundary. According to the Bangladesh Gazette, total area of the Pourashava presents 2.10 sq. km.

Tungipara seems smallest Pourashava of Gopalganj Zila in respect of area and population. Nothing definitely knows about the origin of the Upazila name. The Upazila may derive it’s name from a mouza likes Tungipara where Pourashava headquarter is located. Popularly known Tungipara Pourashava is located on south central part of Bangladesh.
