A large number of statutes enforce to manage the Sundarbans. Two statutes namely Forest Act, 1927 and Wildlife Preservation Order, 1973 frequently uses. Both the statutes not amends according to the present need. As section 33(1) of the Forest Act, 1927, activities such as fishing, burning lime or charcoal, unauthorized extraction of trees, trespasses or pasturing cattle, in any reserved forest, the person may be arrested but he is bailable. Such convicts should not be bailable if the question arises to preserve the resources of Sundarbans.

Similarly, the right of discharge of perishable goods according to the Wildlife Preservation Order, 1973 should not be allowed any more. Mobile Court will form under section 30 of the Order of 1973, which not follows in reality. An undertaking by the offender including financial punishment prescribes by the section 36 not enough due to the devaluation of money. Therefore suggests that the regulations will enforce strictly for preservation of the Sundarbans.

The Sundarbans, largest mangrove forest of the world, treasure of natural resource for Bangladesh. The resources of the Sundarbans include varieties of animals, plants, trees and other forest products. The Sundarban looks beautiful and acts as a pleasure for tourists. Due to the environmental degradation and some illegal activities by the peoples, the forest gradually abolishes. Forest Act 1927 (No. XVI of 1927) notifies during the British Colonial Period for preservation and development of the Sundarbans.

The Act further amends in 1974 and 1990. But the aim and objective of the Act not achieves fully. For protection of wild lives in the forest area, the government later notifies Wildlife Preservation Order 1973 (P. O. No. 23 of 1973). However, in the present day, the wildlife of this forest is abolishing by human interventions and through different illegal process and activities. Sometimes, a few employees of the Sundarbans Forest Division also acts as collaborators with the criminals.
