Industrial development is known as economic backbone of a country. All countries like to follow the industrial development through a proper guideline because the industrial development creates urbanization. Control urbanization always creates suitable living environment, but haphazard industrial development produces unhealthy living environment through haphazard urbanization. Therefore, industrial development tries to be controlled through regulatory measures including physical planning activities.
Industrial erection and establishment mostly follows two dimensions, namely, public and private. Contemporary regulations in Bangladesh for establishment, approval, management by the government is almost same for both. In the concept of urban planning, city planning or town planning, industrial establishment emphasizes important location. This location forms new urbanization and expands city growth. Different type of industrial establishment follows different regulations. But, the regulations prescribed mostly on the management of industries, few are on industrial building and construction. Only Building Construction Act frequently uses for the construction of industrial building / structure. Setback also maintains through this Act. It is proved that, Building Construction Act do not maintain the demand of industrial construction. Therefore, large number of legal gaps dominates the construction of industrial structure. Regulation on locational aspects of industries is too poor. As a result, industrial establishment generates haphazard development in the urban premises.
