In total, 33 industries with one category (light industries) exists in the Pourashava. Among those establishments, agro-based industries account about 85% and wood based industries 15% share of the total running industries. It reflects general agrarian character of the Pourashava. All of those enterprises hold proprietorship units meaning that private sector dominates the industrial sector of the Pourashava.

Most of the industries (except saw mill and furniture manufacturing industries) in the Pourashava depends on raw material available locally. The industrial output produces in the local market. It is also found that those establishments suffers with problems and potentialities. Careful consideration will help to resolve those problems and adoption of necessary policy initiatives help to flourish the existing units. It also draw more investors and entrepreneurs to setup new manufacturing industries, based on local raw materials.
