Preparation of Land Use Map

Land use map prepared on the basis of data extracted from Land use Survey. All GPS data were collected in WGS84 format and incorporated in GIS database using layer based approach. Every layer is thematic and imitates either a meticulous use or an attribute of the landscape. A comprehensive list of all possible uses of land in the Pourashava prepared based on the studies and reviews of other relevant planning exercises. This includes knowledge over the area on residential, commercial, industrial, etc . Then land use map has been prepared with the use of GIS software for map production Arc View 3.2a/ArGIS. Legend for map features select from the available symbol palettes in Arc View 3.2a/ Arc GIS.

Land Use Survey Data Processing

Following series of data processing tasks prepare  concerning land uses.

Data Processor

• Verify data submissions

• Download data

• Make backups of raw data

• Organize all data (data management)

• Process GPS data

• Adjust all sessions together if applicable

• Check results and report to party chief

All GPS data were collected in WGS84 format (latitude, longitude, ellipsoidal height in meter) and afterward projected and amassed in LCC projection system (Northing, Easting, ellipsoidal height in meter) and integrated in GIS database. All spatial information or data from Total Station survey such as line and point features, structures dimensions etc. progressed and accumulated in LCC projection system under an inclusive GIS database constituent. Geographic information System (GIS) software such as Arc View 3.2a, Arc GIS 9.2 and Arc/Info 7.2.1 uses for data processing and preparing maps.
