The national level policies relevant to the planning effort presents here. It also reviews and highlights important issues relevant to planning and development of Pourashava planning. Aim of the review highlights special features of the relevant national policy documents. Those documents expose their major limitations and point out necessary areas of revisions to make them effective in future development.

The policies and their strategies available as a public document in the country for urban and rural planning practice neither good nor bad. They impacts on land and housing markets favorably or unfavorably. Results in social benefits and costs depending on their nature and the specific contexts. Careful reforms of those policies can result in a lower cost for urban development and housing. An additional benefit could be in terms of a more functional spatial organization of the city or town. If the objective of orderly town development is to be achieved, policies need to be improved time to time to make them functional.
