The Regional Plan guides by an overall vision or concept of the kind of place our citizens want it to be in the decades ahead. It is an expression of possibility; reflects what people want to happen in the community – even if this would be a challenge to achieve. That vision is to be:

  1. Place with a vigorous economy
  2. A place where residents enjoy high quality of life
  3. Well cared place for environment

The Rutland County Community Health Assessment identifies three top priorities for health care. They are-

  1. Increase the availability of mental health and substance abuse services,
  2. Decrease heart disease and associated risk factors,
  3. Improve access to primary care system.

These goals will rely on the following three broad categories for attaining health and wellness. They are given below-

1.Prevention

2.Short term treatment

3.Long term treatment
