The Government of Bangladesh has established Transport Sector Coordination (TSC) Wing within Planning Commission to coordinate policy across relevant ministries. Ensures sound economic investment in the transport sector. Support the development of long-term plans for road, rail, air and inland waterways. Maintain a transport database. Since inception, DFID funded CIDC-3 provides Technical Assistance (TA) support to the TSC. A National Land Transport Policy (NLTP), prepared by TSC has been approved by the Cabinet. TSC has also formulated an integrated multi-modal transport policy, the first of its kind in the country. The policy document is currently under reviews by the Government. At the planning level, TSC prepare transport sector Road Master Plan, integrates with rail, air and inland waterways.
