Rickshaw pullers economy in city transport sector of Bangladesh deserves no vision. They perform today’s work tomorrow and tomorrow’s work today. A general scenario avails in all the cities that BMRE system follows in all physical components. The country remains underdeveloped due to the changing attitude in every sector.
From the year of 1993 to 1997 total length of National Highway just stands but Feeder / Zila Road increases about 21 percent. Most of the National Highways affect due to the flooding of 1998. some of the major roads reconstruct and some new roads construct to control flood affected areas. As a result, about 8 percent National Highway and 3 percent Regional Highway constructs by the RHD. It shows highest growth up to the year 2002.
Rapid growth of Regional Highway founds in the year 2003. Tha growth focuses to increase accessibility within the region. One component of those issues provide construction of By-pass road and approach roads of some important bridges and some Feeder/Zila Roads. As a result, in the year 2003, growth of Feeder/Zila Road decreases rapidly (-14%). This trend views that importance of Regional Highway more emphasizing than Feeder/Zila Road. It creates regional balance through transportation network.
